dell’anima was opened by Executive Chef Gabe Thompson, Executive Beverage Director Joe Campanale, and Managing Partner August Cardona on October 24, 2007 in the heart of New York City’s West Village.
dell’anima means “of the soul” in Italian and the food features hearty, eloquent dishes of thoughtful simplicity. Our menu offerings change daily, and we use local, seasonal, and sustainably harvested produce where possible.
Thompson’s menu features a selection of pastas made fresh in house every day, traditional dishes rarely found outside of Italy, and Thompson’s own Italian-inspired creations.
Campanale’s wine list features an array of small production, high-quality selections with an emphasis on traditional and natural winemaking. Over 150 hand-chosen wines are selected for flavor, uniqueness and tradition. Every bottle is kept in our own temperature-controlled cellar and expertly poured into hand-blown crystal glasses from Milan.
dell’anima can accommodate up to 50 guests, and six lucky people may sit at the chef’s counter, which provides a commanding view of the open kitchen. Bar seats are available for walk-ins, where you can enjoy a glass of wine, a cocktail, or eat a whole meal. The chef’s counter may be reserved by phone or in person for groups of up to six people.

Founded in 1940 by Murray Greenberg, Murray’s is proud to be a Greenwich Village-based business and part of the neighborhood’s rich food history. It’s a pretty safe bet to say that we’re cheese obsessed: our goal is to find the most delicious cheese across the globe, and then feed it to you!
The main thing that makes Murray’s special is our passion for cheese – we share that with our friends and customers, whether you’re visiting one of our shops in New York, stopping by a Murray’s kiosk at your local supermarket, trolling on our web site, taking a class with us, or working with our wholesale department for your restaurant.

This little stretch of Bleecker Street has been home to our cheese shop for decades, but it wasn’t until we opened Murray’s Cheese Bar in 2012 that we could host our friends and neighbors for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Or cheese anytime of day! Our menu boasts cheeses plucked right from our cheese caves beneath Bleecker Street. Come by for a cheese plate you’ll fantasize about later, or a full dinner of baked, grilled, melted cheeses and more, along with wine and craft beer.
Founded in 1940 by Murray Greenberg, Murray’s is proud to be a Greenwich Village business and part of the neighborhood’s rich food history. Owner Rob Kaufelt bought Murray’s in the early ‘90s and transformed the downtown flagship store into a destination for food lovers. He filled the cheese case with rare finds from around the world, built cheese caves to age and ripen cheese, and hosted regular classes in our classroom. And the people keep coming back! Murray’s also now ships cheese and gifts nationwide on our web site, works with chefs nationwide through our wholesale business, and brings good cheese to cheese counters in Grand Central Terminal and within supermarkets nationwide.

Chef Seamus Mullen’s award-winning Spanish restaurant in NYC, which brings together the spirit of the tertulia with a menu that celebrates Spain’s exquisite products and flavors. After exploring the region of Asturias in northern Spain, Chef Mullen discovered the singular charm of the sidreria, or the local cider house. There is a distinct energy created by the waiters pouring cider from high above their heads, the buzz of guests around the bar, and the simple, delicious food coming out of the kitchen.
Chef Mullen’s first solo project, Tertulia offers a menu that honors Spain through his distinct approach. From a variety of tostas to sartenes (small, grilled sharing dishes), to tapas and larger platos familiares, it’s the ingredients which are the real stars. This is, at its essence, what they refer to in Spain as cocina de producto.

A neighborhood favorite and a citywide destination, Trestle on Tenth is a Swiss brasserie (casual dining, offering beer, wine and spirits) directly across from the High Line Park, in the heart of the Chelsea art district.
Our menu offers a farm fresh selection of a variety of American and European specialties prepared with Swiss care and French flair. Hearty breads, homemade muffins, great coffee and friendly service are yours, seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunches.
The prices are moderate, the hospitality warm, the wine list acclaimed by the New York Times, our private garden dining area is a green haven, and the food – well, you’ll just have to come discover how good it is!
