Casellula Wine and Cheese Cafe
Our philosophy is simple: to share our passion for hand-made cheeses with as many people as possible. To that end, we have about 40 cheeses from all over the world on our list every day.
The choices range from the familiar to the obscure; from mild to strong (and on to super, duper, crazy, stinky); from fresh to washed to blue. And because not every cheese goes with quince paste we take pains to pair each cheese with its perfect house-made condiment.
It doesn’t stop with cheese, though. Our menu of shareable dishes will satisfy any palate. And with over 100 wines on our list, many of them unusual varietals from obscure regions, your geeking out doesn’t need to be limited to the cheese.

Opened in October 2007 in the heart of New York City’s West Village, dell’anima means “of the soul” in Italian and features hearty, eloquent dishes of thoughtful simplicity. Our menu offerings change daily and we use local, seasonal, and sustainably harvested produce where possible.
Executive Chef Andrew Whitney’s menu features a selection of pastas made fresh in house every day, traditional dishes rarely found outside of Italy, and his own Italian-inspired creations.
Our wine list features an array of small production, high-quality selections with an emphasis on traditional and natural winemaking. Over 150 hand-chosen wines are selected for flavor, uniqueness and tradition. Every bottle is kept in our temperature-controlled cellar and expertly poured into hand-blown crystal glasses from Milan.
dell’anima can accommodate up to 50 guests, and six lucky people may sit at the Chef’s Counter, which provides a commanding view of the open kitchen. Bar seats are available for walk-ins, where you can enjoy a glass of wine, a cocktail, or eat a whole meal. The Chef’s Counter may be reserved by phone or in person for groups of up to six people.

One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests to enjoy its contemporary American cuisine, warm hospitality, and unparalleled service for close to two decades. Chef Michael Anthony’s fiercely seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant’s relationships with local farms and purveyors.
The restaurant can be enjoyed through two distinct dining experiences: the Tavern and the Dining Room. The Tavern serves an à la carte menu in a casual, walk-in setting and offers a daily four-course tasting menu at dinner. The Dining Room offers fixed-price and tasting menus with an à la carte option at lunch.
Opened in 1994 by legendary restaurateur Danny Meyer in a historic landmark building, the restaurant is designed by Bentel & Bentel with murals from artist Robert Kushner and vibrant floral arrangements from Roberta Bendavid.

We’ve been selling cheese at our Bleecker Street flagship store since 1940, and in 2012 the team behind Murray’s Cheese decided we needed a place to host our friends and neighbors for cheesy brunches, dinners and spirited celebrations. Murray’s Cheese Bar was born, and so was a world of fine cheeses made locally and abroad, selected and arranged by expert mongers or cooked into divine dishes by our seasoned chefs.
We love cheese, but our menu also features seasonal specials, high-quality meat and produce and fantastic happy hour specials during the week. Join us for dinner seven nights a week or weekend brunch next time you’re passing through Greenwich Village and see why we’re so in love with what we serve.

Inspired by the flavors of the mountainous coastal region that blurs the lines of demarcation between Spain and France and the vibrancy of the Basque culture. Ortzi is a restaurant and wine bar that provides LUMA Hotel guests with an alluring and intimate experience centered around Chef Jose Garces’ vision of Basque dishes.
I walked away from writing about Print in our latest issue of Edible Manhattan with a bumper-crop of admiration for owner Adam Block, a man who knows how to do the impossible: combine earnest ethos with smart business sense. While touring around behind the scenes with staff forager, Meghan Boledovich, I learned of her love and super enthusiasm not just for what goes on the table, but what’s in the glass, too — a topic dear to my own whiskey-loving heart.
